MOTORWAY PICNIC - TOTTENHAM

Inspired by the roadside picnics we documented in Marrakech, we performed our own in Tottenham, North London.
Searching for the opposite of what would usually be deemed a ‘desirable’ place to sit and eat a picnic, we challenged both our own and our cultural perceptions of these pockets of unused public green spaces.
Sitting in an unusual spot for this activity whilst also being at the same eye-level as drivers sparked unexpected interaction with curious motorists passing by and local residents about the value of their green spaces.
